Year 2 Homework

In Year 2, all homework is set and submitted using Google Classroom. This helps to save paper and means the children can complete tasks more creatively. You can either complete your homework on paper, photograph it and then submit it as a photograph or you can use Microsoft Word/ PowerPoint to upload your work.

The children will be taught how to open and upload their homework on Google Classroom in school.

How to login to Google Classroom:

Visit www.classroom.google.com 

Login using your username and password.

All children have the same format for their username: 

First name followed by initial of surname and they year they started school. For Year 2, this is 20. 

Example: joeb20@st-annes.walsall.sch.uk

Click on 'Year 2 Google Meets' and then 'classwork'.

Click on the dated task.

Click on 'add or create' to upload a document or a photograph of your work.

Spellings 

Spellings will also be sent out via the same task on Google Classroom. These will be related to the 'spelling rule' that we have learnt in class. Please practise your spellings at home for a spelling test the following Friday.

Additional Learning

It would be beneficial for your child to also be accessing Purple Mash, Times Table Rockstars and Phonics Play in their own time to support what we have been learning in school. If you require another copy of your child's username and password, please email me. 

Spelling Rules

Please find attached a pdf document below with all of the spelling rules we will be learning this half-term. The document also contains common exception words which are exceptions to the spelling rules and cannot be spelt phonetically.
