Our Lady of Guadalupe

In Year 4 we have a special devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the Americas and of Mexico. She appeared to Saint Juan Diego and asked for a church to be built in her honour, but the bishop did not believe him. Our Lady told Juan Diego to gather roses and when he opened his cloak and released them before the bishop, her image appeared on his cloak. Her image is now Mexico’s most popular symbol.
