Rainbows Support Group

Rainbows is a support group run by members of staff in school who are specially trained to support children at St Anne's. Our dedicated 'Rainbow Leaders' liaise with school staff to identify children who would benefit from this nurturing programme.

Children who need support around their personal, social and emotional well-being are invited to attend a weekly support group. We aim to help these children put their feelings into words, develop strategies for coping with difficult situations, build a stronger sense of self-esteem, build resilience, enhance relationship skills and understand their place in the wider world. It is a safe, relaxed and supportive group in which children get the chance to talk about their feelings with other children in similar situations. We play games, draw, make things and chat during these sessions.

Confidentiality, which is at the heart of our Rainbows Group, is kept at all times, unless a child or young person is at risk. In these cases, the school’s safeguarding procedures are followed.

All meetings start and end with prayer and we look to see how our relationship with God can guide and support us on our Rainbows journey and beyond.
