Sports Council and Sports Leaders

In the Autumn term, Mr Sanders from the Streetly Support Network, attends St Anne's school to train our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils for leadership roles, working with our EYFS and KS1 children during playtimes and training them to organise sporting/ physical activities. Our Year 5 children are our playground leaders to support our nursery children, and Y6 pupils to support KS1.

This year, 2025-2026, we are introducing a St Anne's Sport Council and a St Anne's Sport Leadership Team.

Sports Council - this group is made up of children from year 1-5 with 2 representatives from each class. Their role is to collect pupil voice from their classes, generate ideas of new experiences we can offer and help to support the Sports Leaders. They will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining playground equipment during lunch and break times.

Sports Leaders - this group, is a group of year 6 pupils who help to organise and run events within our school for all pupils. They also help to communicate with parents and maintain equipment across school.

Below you are able to find a timetable for our sports leaders and some games and ideas for them to try.
