Year 2

Welcome to Year 2!

Welcome to our Year 2 Class Page!

March 2019

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your continued support last half-term- I hope you all had a lovely break. The children have all been working so hard in class and are a joy to teach.

Please find the updated parent planner for Spring Term 2 under the 'curriculum' page, which contains additional information about the topics we will be covering across the curriculum over this half-term.

Useful information:

Homework

Homework will be sent out on Fridays and is due in on Wednesdays. Please can children stick in any loose sheets into their homework book. Spellings will also be sent out on Fridays for a test the following Friday. These will be relevant to the spelling rule that children have been taught in class.

Our class prayer bag bag will be sent home to a different child each day. Please use the contents to reflect through prayer. It would be wonderful if the children could write their own prayer in the Y2 Prayer Book, which is included in the bag.

Our PE home bag will be sent home to a different child each week on a Friday. The bag contains a range of PE equipment for children to use at home to help stay active. Please return the PE home bag the following Friday.

Reading books

Please place your school reading book and reading record book in the green box in our classroom if your book needs to be changed. We aim to change reading books at least once a week for each child, where the reading record book has been signed by a parent.

All children in Year 2 have been given a 'reading bookmark'. Each time their Reading Diary has been signed by a parent, children will receive a sticker on their bookmark. Children who complete their reading bookmark will receive a prize.

PE

Our PE days are Mondays and Fridays. If possible, please ensure that earrings have already been removed on these days. Long hair must be tied up. It would be helpful if children could practise tying their own shoe laces and fastening their shirt buttons at home, as this will mean we have more lesson time!

If you have any queries or worries throughout the year then please do not hesitate to speak to me or contact me via email at hjones@st-annes.walsall.sch.uk

Best wishes,

Miss Jones
