Last term Year 3 were thinking about those who were less fortunate and as part of our Lenten Charity work we decided to make and sell smoothies for charity. We linked this in with a focus on healthy eating and our Maths work as we had to measure out our ingredients and calculate our profits. It was great fun and we are excited to find out the total amount of money we raised.

This week Year 3 started their new English topic- Newspapers. We looked at how news-reports are laid out and looked specifically at Headlines and how they are written. We watched news-reports on Newsround and wrote our own headlines about the news-reports using alliteration and 'playing on words'. Then we used our ICT skills to design and print them. The stories were about a turtle who kept swallowing pound coins, a rat that got stuck down a drain, a cat that could open doors and a tiny tortoise who was always hungry. Now you know the news -reports, see if you can match the headline we wrote to the story!
We have been writing some Lenten prayers to help us and guide us through Lent.
