Jesuit Pupil Profile for Parents
Learned & Wise - Spring 2 2019
This term we are learning to be Learned & Wise.
Learned: learning how God wants us to live our lives. Whether we are young or old, we should never stop learning about what God wants of us. We learn many new things each day. By reading the Bible, listening to our teachers and listening to our hearts, we learn more of what God wants.
Wise: knowing how God wants us to live our lives and putting it into practice. God is always with us and hoping that we will live our lives in the right way, following the teachings of Jesus.
What qualities does God want us to show in our everyday lives? He wants us to be kind, loving, respectful and trustworthy. He wants us to do as Jesus did. This is particularly important as we move through Lent.
Help me love, help me care,
help me smile, help me share.
Help me give, help me grow,
help me laugh, help me know.
Who will win the award and show that they are Learned & Wise?
Eloquent & Truthful - Spring 1 2019
This term we are learning to be 'Eloquent & Truthful'.
Eloquent: the ability to speak or write fluently, persuasively and appropriately. When we choose our words, we should do so carefully so they are kind and compassionate, and don’t hurt others. We can express ourselves in other ways like music, drama, painting or dance. We should use our creative gifts to say things in a way that is interesting, truthful, memorable and faithful.
Truthful: God wants us to be truthful in all we do. Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life’, so being honest and truthful means we are following in his footsteps and living life the way God wants us to.
Thessalonians 5:11 - Lord, help me to use my words to encourage others and build them up far more than critiquing or criticising them.
Who will earn the Eloquent & Truthful award?
help us to know the truth,
and to speak the truth,
today and always.
Well done to Jake & Orla who have shown they are Eloquent & Truthful in school. Keep it up!
Faith-Filled and Hopeful - Autumn 2 2018
This term we are learning to be faith-filled & hopeful.
Faith-filled: We are faith-filled when we are living life as God inspires us to live it, putting the Gospel into action through our deeds. Faith gives us belief and trust in God and in other people. We have to build on it every day through prayer, being part of a faith community and living out the gospel values. Faith gives us hope.
Hopeful: We are hopeful when we are optimistic about the future, we trust ourselves and others, and we don’t give up. Our faith teaches us that God is hope – that Christ walks before us and gives us the courage to follow. Hope makes us unafraid to step into the unknown and face challenges. Hope can deepen or restore our faith.
Faith-filled in their beliefs and hopeful for the future.
“Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your hope and faith are in God.” Peter 1:21
“Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
Well done to Fahren & Harriet who have shown they are Faith-filled & Hopeful
Compassionate & Loving - Autumn 1 2018
In the first half term this year, we were learning how to be compassionate & loving. We tried to be compassionate and think of others. We tried to show love to our friends everyday in school and family at home.
We made poster that showed the people we love. We thought about how people show they love us.
When we were seen to show compassion and love to others in school we were awarded a star on our values and virtues board in class.
At the end of the term Mrs Turley & Mrs Long chose Joshua & Immy who were living these values in everyday life. They were awarded a certificate from Mrs Johnston in the congratulations assembly on 9th November 2018. Well done and keep it up!
