European Architecture Pastel Drawings

European Architecture Pastel Drawings

As part of our European Geography topic in the Spring/Summer 1 half terms, Year 5 researched famous European Architecture. We learnt about the architects, materials and purposes for a number of different buildings and monuments for homework.

We then used art pencils to sketch the buildings into our art books, carefully considering form, line and shading. Then we took our sketches and transferred our pencil-work to larger pieces of art paper. Finally, we used pastels to finish our masterpieces, considering the colour and blending techniques we needed to use to complete our work.

We hope you enjoy our artwork. Can you spot:

- La Sagrada Familia?

- The Leaning Tower of Pisa?

- The Brandenburg Gate?

- The Shard?

- L'arc de Triomphe?

- St. Peter's

- Any other famous buildings?
